1) Medical Properties Of Ozone
Ozone is a potent regulator of the immune system. When the immune systemis overactive (as in auto-immune disease), ozone will calm it down. Conversely,when the immune system is underactive as in chronic infections, ozone willstimulate it. This unique ability of ozone stems from its activation of immunerelated messenger molecules, so called cytokines, like gamma interferon,interleukin-2, colony stimulating factor, and TNF-alpha, to name just a few.
Ozone increases uptake of oxygen by stimulating the enzymediphosphoglycerate (DPG). DPG enables the release of oxygen from the hemoglobinmolecule so that it can be taken up into the cell.
Ozone improves circulation by enhancing the flow characteristics of blood.This effect enables more of the oxygen carrying hemoglobin to reach the cells.
Ozone increases antioxidant protection by stimulating the production ofintra-cellular antioxidants (superoxide-dismutase, catalase,glutathione-peroxidase.)
Ozone stimulates the energy production in the mitochondria.

2) How Is Ozone Used Medically?
Major auto-hemotherapy (MAH): This is a systemic therapy where 6-12 ouncesof blood are removed into a sterilized bottle. Then ozone is injected into thebottle, and the bottle is gently shaken, allowing the red and white blood cellsto take up the ozone. The ozonated blood is then returned to the body. MAH iscontraindicated during pregnancy, or with recent myocardial infarction, activebleeding, hyperthyroidism, very low platelet count, or G6PD deficiency.
Rectal insufflation Bladder insufflation for interstitial cystitis and acute cystitis. Ozonated olive oil Prolozone: This is an injection used to treat tendon, ligament, muscle orjoint problems, including low back pain.
3) Ozone Treatment for Disease
Wounds, Ulcers, Burns:
Ozone therapy is very effective for super-infected andbadly healing wounds. It stops bleeding. It is wound cleansing, and itaccelerates wound healing. We use ozone concentrations ranging from 40 to 100ug per ml. Topically, you never heal a wound if you continue to use highconcentrations of ozone, because you are destroying all the cells, good andbad, by oxidizing and breaking down that essential fatty acid membrane that isaround every cell. Too high concentrations of ozone are damaging to thetissues. You use high concentrations only initially to clean the scar tissueand break up those mutant type formed cells. When we do external applicationswith bags (bag therapy), we use about 32-40 ug/ml. If it is done properly itwill never be harmful. We see healing routinely in our clinic by simply placinga silicone bag above and below the wound or burn area. We secure it with arubber band, and then ozonate the area. It is simple and inexpensive. Peripheralozone treatments may be used on burns,gangrene, ulcers, diabetic ulcers and peripheral vascular disease. Ozonetherapy is tremendously beneficial in treating burns - it is spectacular. ForNorth America not to have medical ozone in their burn units is criminal. Burnsare the most painful and disfiguring pathology a person can experience andozone therapy is so simple and so inexpensive.
For a direct fungucidal,bactericidal and virucidal effect, you have to use 80 to 100 ug/ml. Ifyou don't achieve that concentration you are not breaking that capsid up, youare not getting to the virus capsule. Using 28 to 42 ug/ml will be systemicallyvirucidal through an indirect mechanism of increasing immunity.
Herpes, Hepatitis,AIDS and Cancer:
Ozone oxidizes the cells of the body systemically. Itstimulates enzymes and phagocytes, the white blood cells which chew up thedebris, the viruses and the bacteria in the blood. It activates alphainterferon, gamma interferon, interleuken II and tumour necrosis factor. Ozoneis specific for pathogenic cells and does not hurt the good cells. With redblood cells, it increases the cascade of events that eventually frees oxygenfrom the hemoglobin molecule so that oxygen is released. It is effective with hepatitis B. We have not had onehepatitis patient that we haven't had success with. We use more than justozone, but ozone is a major part of it. For pathological conditions produced byviruses like herpes, hepatitis, AIDSand cancer, we use 38-42 ug/ml.
Medical ozone is very effective for maculardegeneration and brain stem disease - it is very effective in getting intothose small capillary spaces. We use anthocyanidinsand antioxidants in conjunctionwith the ozone therapy. We see cessation and reversal in 90% of cases.Blueberry and bilberry supply visual purple which nourishes rhodopsin whichactivates cones and rods. This increases the blood flow to that region.
